Finding God through Mosaic Making

Facilitated by MosaicJam International, this workshop invites participants to dialogue with God through the fun of mosaic art. We all perceive sensory input in different ways; it is stimulating for us to learn the medium mosaic art through the use of tools, colours and textures. Instead of focusing on results and aesthetics, this mosaic workshop invites participants to go into prayer and interior reflection to bring creative works into fruition.

Participants would be led into prayer, silence and reflection, and then invited to create a mosaic piece during the workshop. During the workshop, participants would learn to paint the base, colour adhesive, applying adhesive to the base, cut tesseraes, and set tesseraes on the base. At the end of the workshop, on a volunteer basis, participants would be invited to share their experience and testimony with others.

Praying through the Eyes of Ignatius

St. Ignatius in his autobiography revealed two pivotal conversion experiences. His first was while recovering from war wounds at the Castle of Loyola. The second was at Manresa, as he walked along the river Cardoner. By the river, he experienced an enlightenment that changed his perception of the world, an ability to find God in all things. His experiences and his notes on spiritual insights became the basis for the Spiritual Exercises.

In the Spiritual Exercises, St. Ignatius describes various prayer methods including the Examen, Discursive Meditation and Ignatian Contemplation. All unique and useful in their own ways, come and be introduced to these Ignatian prayer methods.

Come, See and Taste - Ignatian Spiritual Direction

In this talk, come and discover more about spiritual direction in the Ignatian tradition.

Recognise how it is a sacred space to discover God; to see Jesus more clearly, love Him more dearly, and follow him more nearly. In doing so, in the words of Pedro Arrupe, may we "fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything."

Finding God in Movies: Ignacio de Loyola

Stories in movies allow for reflective moments, often inviting us to question something about ourselves, our faith or in a greater sense, humanity.

Join us to watch Ignacio de Loyola, a 2016 Philippine historical biographical religious drama directed by Paolo Dy. It is based on the memoirs of Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus.

The film shows how Ignacio wove the trials, errors, and lessons of his eventful life into the fabric of his masterpiece, the Spiritual Exercises. We will engage in conversation after the movie.
